AREWA YOUTH LEADERS URGE UNITY AMID SECURITY CHALLENGES, BACK TINUBU, DEFENCE LEADERSHIP
Minna, Niger State — A critical youth leader of the Arewa Community Vanguard (ACV) has called on Nigerians to remain united and resilient in the face of ongoing security challenges, warning against attempts to politicize insecurity for selfish gains.
Speaking in Minna, representatives of the group, Mallam Ibrahim Kolo Haruna and Musa Lawal Funtua, expressed deep condolences to Nigerians over recent attacks by bandits and terrorists on innocent civilians and members of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to Nigerians over these painful incidents. However, this is not the time to give up or lose hope,” the group stated.
They cautioned that some political actors, allegedly desperate for power, may be exploiting insecurity narratives to discredit the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Some individuals are clearly uncomfortable with the progress being made and may be intensifying negative narratives to turn the electorate against the government, particularly in the North. Nigerians must remain vigilant and not allow themselves to be misled,” they said.
The group maintained that President Tinubu, the Minister of Defence, and the Service Chiefs have not failed, insisting that measurable progress is being recorded under the leadership of Christopher Musa.
STEADY HANDS. VISIBLE RESULTS. A SAFER NIGERIA.
According to them, despite the complexity of modern threats, Nigeria’s Armed Forces are now more coordinated, more focused, and more effective, with improved intelligence sharing and stronger collaboration across security agencies.
“What inspires confidence is not noise, but consistency. What builds trust is visible leadership, and that is what Nigerians are witnessing today,” the statement added.
The youth leaders described CG Musa as a symbol of calm, strategic, and result-driven military leadership, committed to restoring peace and stability across the country.
They also urged citizens of the North to protect the unity and heritage of Arewa, warning against divisive tendencies that could undermine regional stability.
“We must not allow anyone to destabilize our great Arewa. This is our home and our heritage, and we all have a responsibility to protect it,” they said.
While acknowledging that challenges remain, the group emphasized that progress is real and should not be ignored.
“Hope is rising. Stability is returning. Nigeria is moving forward. However, it is also clear that some interests are not pleased with these gains and may be amplifying tensions for political advantage. Nigerians must rise above such narratives and remain focused on national unity and development.”
They further stressed the importance of accountability and collective responsibility in leadership and public discourse.
“In the end, everyone ,leaders in government, opposition figures, and all stakeholders will be accountable for their actions. What matters now is that we support efforts that promote peace, stability, and the well-being of ordinary Nigerians.”
The group concluded by calling for prayers, unity, and sustained public support for the Armed Forces and national leadership.
“God answers the prayers of the people, and we remain hopeful and prayerful for a better, safer Nigeria,” they said.
Hope is rising. Stability is returning. Nigeria is moving forward.
