Spread the love

By Victor Mathew Bobai, Public and Political Affairs Analyst

Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of 2027 is increasingly being shaped not only by political parties and elected officials, but also by citizens who believe strongly in particular leaders and the direction of the country.

One such emerging network is Friends of CG Musa, a national platform of Nigerians who have chosen to identify with the leadership, courage, professional record and national outlook of General Christopher Gwabin Musa, OFR, and, consequently, to support the continued leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

As a Public & Political Affairs Analyst and one of the coordinators of this growing national network, I have come to understand that our motivation is bigger than partisan politics.

We are working for President Tinubu because we believe that Nigeria requires continuity, stability, security and the consolidation of the gains of democratic governance.

More importantly, we believe that General Christopher Musa represents a powerful example of what patriotic service to Nigeria should mean.

Why CG Musa Matters
General Musa’s journey is important to this conversation.

He is a soldier who has served Nigeria at some of its most difficult security frontlines. He has commanded troops, confronted terrorism and insecurity, served as Chief of Defence Staff and subsequently became Minister of Defence.

But beyond his military credentials is something that has attracted many Nigerians to him: resilience and loyalty to constitutional authority.

Musa has experienced moments of intense public controversy and institutional pressure. Yet, rather than abandoning the democratic system, he has repeatedly affirmed his commitment to constitutional government.

That is significant.

For us in Friends of CG Musa, his message is not simply about one individual. It is about Nigeria’s future.

If a man who has spent decades defending the country believes that democratic stability must be protected, then Nigerians should listen.

And if that same man has publicly expressed his willingness to support President Bola Tinubu’s second-term aspiration, we believe that his reasons deserve to be communicated to Nigerians—not through coercion, but through conversation.

FROM SOCIAL MEDIA TO THE DOORSTEP
This is why Friends of CG Musa is taking the conversation beyond social media.

Our Door-to-Door Campaign in Support of President Bola Tinubu is designed to take our message directly to Nigerians.

We want to enter communities, streets, markets, homes and neighbourhoods.

We want to listen to Nigerians.

We want to explain what the Tinubu administration is doing.

We want to discuss security.

We want to discuss infrastructure.

We want to discuss agriculture.

We want to discuss economic reforms.

We want to discuss youth empowerment.

And, importantly, we want to hear the complaints and concerns of ordinary Nigerians.

Politics cannot permanently be conducted from television studios, social media platforms and political rallies.

Politics must return to the people.

That is the philosophy behind our Door-to-Door initiative.

A NATIONAL STRUCTURE, NOT A ONE-STATE PROJECT
One of the things that makes this initiative different is its national character.

I am privileged to lead a team of committed Nigerians who have accepted responsibility for taking this message across the six geopolitical zones.

These are not merely names on paper. They are leaders who understand their respective regions and communities and who are prepared to build genuine grassroots conversations.

NORTH CENTRAL — TOBA OWAJAIYE
leads our Door-to-Door campaign in the North Central, covering:

Abuja
Kogi
Nasarawa
Niger
Kwara
Plateau
Benue
The North Central is strategically important to Nigeria’s political future because of its geographical position and demographic diversity.

Toba Owajaiye and his team will take the message into communities, engaging citizens directly and explaining why Friends of CG Musa believes continuity under President Tinubu deserves serious consideration.

NORTH EAST — DR. VICTOR CHARIMA
is responsible for the North East campaign covering:

Taraba
Adamawa
Gombe
Borno
Bauchi
Yobe
This region has experienced some of Nigeria’s most severe security challenges.

Therefore, the conversation about security, stability and rebuilding cannot be separated from the political conversation.

Our message in the North East will be particularly focused on the importance of security, economic recovery, agriculture, education and restoring confidence in communities.

NORTH WEST — HON. HAMIS NABABA MALUMFASHI
leads the Door-to-Door campaign across the North West:

Jigawa
Kaduna
Kano
Katsina
Kebbi
Sokoto
Zamfara
This is one of Nigeria’s largest political and demographic blocs.

The North West cannot be treated merely as a voting statistic. It must be engaged through genuine community-level conversations.

Our teams will explain the reasons for supporting President Tinubu while listening to the concerns of citizens, particularly on security, agriculture, food prices, employment and economic opportunity.

SOUTH WEST — DR. ADEOSUN OLUMIDE OLAYINKA
leads our South West operation covering:

Lagos
Ogun
Ekiti
Ondo
Osun
Oyo
The South West is politically sophisticated and highly engaged.

Therefore, our approach will not be based on empty slogans.

We intend to present facts, discuss policies and achievements, acknowledge concerns and allow citizens to make informed political choices.

SOUTH EAST — ST. CLEMENT SUNDAY
is responsible for the South East:

Anambra
Abia
Ebonyi
Imo
Enugu
Our message in the South East is fundamentally about inclusion.

Nigeria cannot progress when citizens feel excluded from national conversations.

Friends of CG Musa believes that every region deserves to be heard and respected.

Our Door-to-Door campaign therefore seeks to create conversations about national unity, economic opportunity, security and the role of the South East in Nigeria’s political future.

SOUTH SOUTH — MR. DENNIS ALYSOR
leads our South South operation covering:

Delta
Edo
Akwa Ibom
Rivers
Cross River
Bayelsa
The South South remains strategically important to Nigeria’s economy and national development.

Our engagement will focus on ensuring that citizens understand the national implications of political choices while also bringing their expectations and concerns into the broader conversation.

THE FRIENDS OF CG MUSA MODEL: ORGANISE, ENGAGE, LISTEN AND COMMUNICATE
My responsibility is not simply to announce these leaders.

My responsibility is to help coordinate a structure capable of communicating effectively across Nigeria.

The model is straightforward:

Organise → Mobilise → Engage → Listen → Educate → Communicate → Follow Up.

We want every regional leader to develop teams capable of reaching wards, communities and households.

We want our volunteers to understand that door-to-door politics is not about intimidating voters or imposing opinions.

It is about persuasion.

It is about conversation.

It is about facts.

It is about listening.

And ultimately, it is about allowing Nigerians to make their own decisions.

WHY TINUBU? WHY NOW?
The central question Nigerians will ask us is simple:

Why are Friends of CG Musa supporting President Bola Tinubu?

Our answer is equally straightforward.

We believe Nigeria needs continuity in its democratic development.

We believe the security architecture requires sustained investment.

We believe economic reforms require time and institutional consolidation.

We believe infrastructure and development projects must be completed and expanded.

And we believe that Nigerians should evaluate the Tinubu administration based on measurable performance rather than political propaganda from either supporters or opponents.

We are not asking Nigerians to surrender their right to question government.

Quite the opposite.

We want Nigerians to ask difficult questions.

What has changed?

What remains unfinished?

What should improve?

What has the government done in your community?

Those are legitimate questions.

Our responsibility is to provide evidence and have the conversation.

CG MUSA AS THE BRIDGE
Ultimately, Friends of CG Musa is using the reputation and national appeal of General Musa as a bridge to a much larger conversation about Nigeria.

Musa’s story is one of service.

It is a story of a soldier who has seen the consequences of insecurity.

It is a story of a Nigerian who has served under democratic institutions.

It is a story of resilience in the face of adversity.

And today, it is also a story of an individual who has publicly chosen to support President Tinubu’s second-term aspiration.

For us, that support deserves to be understood.

But we also recognise an important principle:

General Musa cannot decide the election. Nigerians will decide the election.

Our job is to take the conversation to Nigerians.

THE ROAD TO 2027
The Friends of CG Musa national structure is therefore positioning itself as a grassroots communication network that will operate across the six geopolitical zones.

From Abuja to Sokoto, Kaduna to Borno, Lagos to Enugu, Rivers to Bayelsa, our leaders will be taking the conversation to the people.

Six geopolitical zones.

Thirty-six states plus the FCT.

Hundreds of communities.

Thousands of conversations.

One national objective:

To encourage Nigerians to examine the record, understand the issues and make an informed decision about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election.
I am proud to work alongside these remarkable leaders.

Toba Owajaiye.
Dr. Victor Charima.
Hon. Hamis Nababa Malumfashi.
Dr. Adeosun Olumide Olayinka.
St. Clement Sunday.
Mr. Dennis Alysor.

Together, we represent a simple philosophy:

We will not wait for Nigerians to come to us. We will go to Nigerians.
We will knock on the doors.

We will listen.

We will speak.

We will present the facts.

And we will defend what we believe is right for Nigeria.

This is why Friends of CG Musa are working across Nigeria for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Nigeria first. Democracy first. Progress first.
